Natalie Cheung Ai Wen is an Architectural Designer based in Singapore working with visual storytelling, ceramics, publication and graphic design. Natalie’s interest lies in discovering the everyday subtleties that are brought about by architecture and design in shaping our subconscious. Inquisitive, her work engages a reader to think beyond solution-finding and find ways toward architecture as a means to unravel and spark conversation. She believes in a multidisciplinary approach and continues to find fresh ways in representation and critique while engaging strong narratives.
Natalie received her Masters in Architecture (RIBA Part II) and Bachelors in Architecture (RIBA Part 1) from National University of Singapore in 2018 and 2016 respectfully. She is currently based in Singapore and works for an award-winning British architectural design practice, Foster + Partners. Past experiences include WOHA Architects, Genome Architect and LAUD Architects.
Her architectural master thesis Authoring Nature has been accredited President’s Medal (Silver) Nomination and her bachelors graduating project The Seam has been accredited President’s Medal (Bronze) Nomination. Her work has been featured in weareawebsite, The Architecture Student Blog, TA Magazine (Dec/2018), Foster+Partners 2018 Work, Critday - Daily Architecture and Archdaily. Natalie has also exhibited her thesis in the International Exhibition of Architectural Graduation Design in 2018. Her thesis was also presented to Norman Foster of Foster + Partners in 2018.
